Recently we supplied and installed a range of Garmin gear for Garmin’s own show boat. This boat will be used for display at many of the boat shows around New Zealand, as well as out on the water, so keep an eye out. The vessel is a Kingfisher 450 Mini-cat, made right here in Mount Maunganui by Alloy Cats. If you’ve ever wondered how much Garmin gear can fit in the smallest space possible, this might be a good indication.
The entire set up is intended to showcase the range of Garmin’s gear, so a Striker 7dv to represent the Striker range of sounders, an echoMAP CHIRP 75sv to show off the echoMAP range and a GPSMAP 7410xsv to top it off with the high performance gear. The 7410xsv is also used to drive the GMR18 xHD radome up on the canopy. The autopilot system utilises a Garmin GHP Reactor Autopilot, which is controlled through the GHC20 displays on the right of the 7410.

The 7410xsv is hooked up to a TM265 1kW CHIRP transducer.
