We can’t wait to get out and use this technology – from all reports it is simply stunning. The one aspect we really want to test is the depth capability – you’ll notice with all of the really high definition sonar’s the manufacturer supplied screen shots are in really shallow water – less than 15M normally. So we’re going to take one out and see what it’s like in typical snapper depths!

Garmin’s Panoptix Livescope is the most real sonar you will ever see. You have never fished like this before. It is live, real time sonar, so you can actually see sonar images of fish swimming near structure. You can even see your lure as you retrieve it. And your boat doesn’t need to be moving. These images are so clear and precise that you might be able to distinguish between species of fish!

Two Modes in One Transducer

Both LiveScope Down and Forward modes are in one transducer, so it’s easy to change scanning mode to fit your fishing techniques. Use LiveScope Forward to see clear images of structure and fish around your boat. Or use LiveScope Down to see the fish swimming below your boat. The view automatically updates on your compatible Garmin chartplotter. AHRS stabilization keeps your sonar view steady, even in rough conditions.

Viewing below your boat

LiveScope down allows you to see live sonar images of structure and fish in incredible detail below your boat. It works up to 60m down — even while your boat is stationary.

Viewing around your boat

LiveScope Forward mode is an excellent tool for scouting and fishing out ahead of your cast. You’re looking at live, highly detailed sonar images of structure and fish swimming all around your boat — up to 60m away — even while your boat is stationary.

The sonar system includes a compact GLS 10 sonar black box with LVS32 transducer and Garmin Marine Network cable, making it easy to install and seamlessly integrate with your compatible Garmin chartplotter. Use the transducer to supplement your traditional fish finder.
